Alabama State University Mighty Marching Hornets, founded in 1964 by Dr. Thomas E. Lyle, is a nationally renowned marching band with a long list of notable accomplishments. They were featured in the documentary Bama State Style, they appeared in the 2016 film Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk, they were featured in Beyonce's 2019 Homecoming special, and they became the first Historically Black College to lead the Rose Bowl Parade in 2019.
